Seeds of History

LCHSSince 1971, the Lebanon County Historical Society has published a newsletter, Seeds of History. The bimonthly newsletter serves the membership, to keep them informed on the activities, programs, and ongoing projects of the Society. The newsletter sometimes include a list of new acquistions to the Museum and the Archives, reports from various officers and committees, and a calendar of upcoming events.  For the very latest Society events, please “Like” the Society’s Facebook page to received the Society’s news feed.

Article Submission

To submit an article to be published in The Seeds of History, please e-mail the article and any accompanying images to office@lchsociety.org.  The article must relate to Lebanon County history and its contents must be approved by the editor of the Seeds.  Submission does not gaurentee publication.

Historic Groups of Lebanon County

Are encouraged to submit a brief article to help promote its upcoming events.  This includes any non-profit groups whose main goals are historical preservation or the promotion of Lebanon County history.

Advertising Policy

The Seeds of History is published on a bimonthly basis. Copies are distributed as a benefit of membership to all current members. The Seeds accepts nondisplay advertising of the type commonly referred to as classified advertising, at the following rates and pursuant to the following policies:

  1. Copy for advertisements must be delivered to the Society offices by the 6th day of the month before publication in order to appear in the edition of the Seeds distributed in the immediately subsequent month.
  2. The rate for all advertisements for members of the Society is $15.00 for the first forty (40) words,and $1.00 per word after the first forty (40) words. The rate for all advertisements for non-members of the Society is $25.00 for the first forty (40) words and $1.25 per word after the first forty (40) words. Numbers without intervening spaces, including telephone numbers and address numbers, shall be considered as one word.
  3. Advertisements are limited to content of an historical or research subject. Inquiries of a genealogical nature; sales of antique items or items of historical significance, and announcements of history-related events are considered acceptable. Without limitation by the above, however, the Society shall exercise complete discretion over the type, size, content and suitability of any and all advertisements submitted. The Society may reject, with or without stated cause, any advertisement for publication.

Liability of the Society for errors in printing is limited to a refund of the rate paid, or a reprinting of the advertisement in proper form.
